Molly was born in Pennsylvania and began to work professionally as a teenager at Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater. Her first production as a professional included The Snow Queen. Then she was nominated as an Barrymore Award nominee for her role of Little Red Ridinghood at the Arden Theater's production Into the Woods. The actress reprised her role as Little Red Ridinghood when she made her Broadway debut at 15 in Into the Woods on Broadway in 2002. She was also nominated for an Drama League Award. Molly was also a part of the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof, in 2004. After that, she went to Princeton University and was a member of Princeton's Triangle Club.
